My brother and I finally got out a few weekends back for some “moto camping” and it was a fun challenge to think about what to bring, and how to pack it, but in the end was great fun.
We had to clear a 12″ tree (which we build up some smaller logs under) and a section of trail probably damn near 2′ deep thanks to the dam of beavers.
With all our planning the ice and beer were last minute pickups that really stressed the limits of my netting.
It was a hell of a way to spend the weekend though just ripping trails. We did learn some things as well, like leaving all your gear in the middle of the woods feels super sketchy. We ended up carrying the packs arounds a lot than we intended to until we found a spot that felt out of the way enough to leave our goods.
Ton of fun, we’re already planning our next trip. I collected a list of exactly what we packed in case anyone else is interested. If you’ve already been camping on your motorcycle I’d love to hear your experience, and any tips you’ve picked up!
We walked along this and it seemed a foot or so. There was 2 super deep “pools” with water coming over my dash!
I gotta practice my larger object tackling. This 12″ fallen tree proved a bit too much for us without some smaller logs ramping us on launch.
Our water dangles precariously on on my nets making room for ice and beer on other side. (My brothers, pretty good actually, idea)
Woohoo! P.S. Micro camp chairs for the win!
