Moose River Rd…A friend and I planned to use it to connect Cedar River Rd and Otter Brook Rd. When we arrived at the sign in near Wakely Dam the ranger stationed there directed us to the sign “No Motorcycles Allowed.” None of the research we had done prepared us for this. A shame; from what we could see it looked terrific.

      Grumps Damn.

NYS lists it as a class 4 road, i am surprised they can restrict traffic like that.

      Thanks for sharing the info!

eddie A good addition is the Gilmantown Road, connecting Speculator and Wells. Enough gravel to be fun, but my GS did it with street sneakers.

Powley Rd…….A friend and I did this a couple of weeks ago. We left Stratford (29A) heading north on Piseco Rd. It soon becomes Powley, terminating on rte 10. It’s excellent the whole way. Road surface is civilized dirt and gravel, traffic virtually non-existent (possibly two cars) and a few people occupying the campsites. The terrain and views, although contained to forest) are superb. Highly recommend.
