  • Crazy used market for adv and dual-sport motorcycles

So I’m looking for a bike for my brother, and I’m learning it’s the worst possible time to do so, because as with anything else right now, the market is HOT. So we’re willing to travel a bit. I find more affluent areas tend to have better deals in 2nd hand market.

But I’ve seen higher prices and then higher prices, and now I’m ticked because someone in NH has the confidence to ask $9,000 for a 2011 650 GS… with 23K miles. It’s a beautiful bike, great machine, and I understand the desire for them. I love mine, but I bought it 6 years go when it was it was only 4 years old(2012) and had 4k miles for HALF of what this joker is asking now. WTF.

Obscene part is that they’ll probably find someone willing to pay it right now. Crazy.

I’ve found that too- but when I go to sell a decent ATC125M, no one wants to pay anything. I have looked at several DR650s. Just seems lacking in some unexplainable way. So I’m in the process of converting my XR650R into a dual sport. Have the south Dakota plate, and parts on the way. You may want to check out the new Kawasaki KLX300- $5300? new, if you can find them. That BMW seems too expensive!

ponderingjunkman yes Honda and Kawis 300s seem legit. Also Canadaigua Motorsports has a few DR650s and 400s in stock today. My buddy and I are going to check them out.

HarlanMiller I’m considering selling my 2007 BMW F650GS Dakar for 6k.

And in this market why not!
